Great Whernside is a 704-metre (2,310 ft) Hewitt in North Yorkshire, England. It lies in the Central Pennines area (Yorkshire Dales - Southern Fells). Its prominence, the drop to the col before higher ground, is 288 m. The summit is marked by a very large cairn. It is also on the Marilyn, Simm and Nuttall lists.
